Mario Balotelli is in talks with English Championship team Barnsley, according to Sun Sport.
The former Italian international has been working with semi-pro side Franciacorta to stay in shape and he is a free agent since his brief stint with Brescia came to an acrimonious end in June.
The Sun appears to be in negotiations with Barnsley FC, the English strugglers and the 30-year-old is planning his next career move.
For SuperMario, who starred for Manchester City and Liverpool and won the Premier League in 2012, it will be a return to England.
However, as Barnsley is fighting to escape relegation into the third tier of England this is a very different level.
