Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has addressed how former team forwards Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo have affected him.

“I just loved watching them play. We used to go to Old Trafford and watch matches and I used to see them score and do great things on the pitch. Afterwards, I’d go home and watch footage of them playing on YouTube,” Rashford said to The Athletic journalist Laurie Whitwell.

“When they were both at their peak and playing alongside them, it was absolute bliss to watch them. To have the opportunity to learn from them, to watch them is a privilege.”

“There are definitely things you can borrow from their game and try to bring into your own, while still maintaining your style and traits on the pitch.”

“But yes, of course, Ronaldo and Rooney have taught me a lot.”

Ronaldo and Rooney played together for Manchester United from 2004 to 2009.

Rashford played 24 games in the EPL this season, scoring eight goals and making six assists.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
