From Manchester United at Sheffield United Dean Henderson is anticipated to stay on loan for the final matches of the extended season, with the goalkeeper deciding to do so having in principle been agreed by the clubs.

According to The Guardian, the deadline for clubs to extend the contract players whose deals expire on June 30th, some specifics still need to be ironed out, but it is expected to be completed before June 23.

Manchester United’s help would come as relaxation to Sheffield United because the former had the decision of recalling Henderson at the end of the month, which means he wouldn’t have played for his loan club in their seven Premier League matches in July when the season is expected to end.

Sheffield United, who has a game in hand, is two points behind Manchester United finishing fourth, the clubs are vying for promotion in the Champions League. If next month’s court of arbitration for sport upholds Manchester City’s ban from the competition fifth place would suffice to qualify.

Henderson helped Sheffield United to get automatic promotion from the Championship during last season when he was on loan at Bramall, and this time he was outstanding for them, earning senior England recognition. The 23-year-old was a member of the new foreign squads in October and November. At Old Trafford Wednesday week, under the terms of his loan, Henderson won’t play against Manchester United.
