Manchester City is looking to replace Real Madrid’s outstanding player. If Manchester City is unable to buy Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy, Rayan Ait-Nouri has been identified as a second alternative. Joao Cancelo, a right-footer, has spent the past two seasons mostly playing left back for City manager Pep Guardiola. Oleksandr Zinchenko alternated in the spot as well, but in the summer he joined Arsenal.

Mendy has thus been chosen by the Cityzens as a long-term answer for the left-back position (via Defensa Central). Under Carlo Ancelotti, the Frenchman has emerged as a crucial component of the Real Madrid team. For €48 million, Los Blancos acquired Mendy from Olympique Lyon in 2019.

The Frenchman has cemented himself as the club’s first-choice left-back following the resurgence of club legend Marcelo. For the team, he has appeared in 123 games, including 18 this year.

Guardiola has also named Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ait-Nouri as a backup option for City if they are unable to sign Mendy (via Calciomercatoweb). Since moving from Angers SCO to Wolves in 2021, the France U21 international has made a strong impression. The 21-year-old Ait-Nouri has participated in 66 games for the team, recording four goals and eight assists.

Over Real Madrid, Manchester City is hoping to sign a midfield target.
Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, has been extensively rumored to be leaving the German team next summer. The teenager has been connected with teams like Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. The English international, though, might decide to choose Pep Guardiola over the Reds and the Merengues, according to City (via The Sun).

Bellingham, 19, has recently made national and club headlines. In addition to helping England go to the quarterfinals, he was one of the greatest young players at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Numerous clubs are fighting for his services although he will probably cost approximately €100 million due to his performances (via Marca). In preparation for the likely departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Real Madrid has begun to assemble a young midfield core. They may choose Bellingham after recently signing Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.
