On a new five-year deal, Manchester City is reportedly close to reaching an agreement at the Etihad Stadium with Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian international arrived from Wolfsburg to City in 2015 and in all competitions, for the Manchester side he has made 227 appearances scoring 58 times and contributing 90 assists in the process.
According to the Daily Mail, the current contract with Pep Guardiola’s side of De Bruyne is set to run until June 2023, but the attacker is in line for a new and improved £300,000-a-week contract.
The report states that over a new five-year deal City has made ‘good progress’ in negotiations, supporting reports that at the Etihad Stadium the Belgian will finish his career.
Scoring 16 times and making 23 assists in all competitions in 48 appearances for Guardiola’s side, De Bruyne enjoyed an outstanding 2019-20 season.
The 29-year-old has also contributed one goal and one assist in three Premier League outings this term.
