During this summer transfer window, Luka Modric is given the freedom to make his own decision about taking off from the club or he should extend the contract.

Obtaining one Copa del Rey, one La Liga title and four Champions League crowns, the 34-year-old has spent the last eight years with Los Blancos, scoring 22 goals in 333 games.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Croatian will not sign a new deal in the Spanish capital as Modric’s contract at Madrid is due to expire in June 2021.

The report argues that the player will be left to determine whether to join a new club in the coming window or to extend his contract and continue with Zinedine Zidane on the side of the 2020-21 campaign.

contributing five goals and five assists in 30 appearances in all competitions, this season, the finalist of the 2018 World Cup was once again a key player for the Zidane team.

For Tottenham Hotspur before arriving in Spain, Modric made over 150 appearances.
