Liverpool stressed out about Luis Diaz’s injury!‘s fitness is under scrutiny by Liverpool after the Colombian winger was ejected from their Dubai winter training camp. The 25-year-old attacker hasn’t played for the Reds since appearing in a 3-2 loss at Arsenal on October 9 due to a knee injury he’s been dealing with for some time. During the World Cup break, Diaz had been given the all-clear to join Jurgen Klopp’s team but has since broken down.
Klopp acknowledged that the immediate prospect does not look bright for a player who has pleased many since joining Anfield in the previous winter transfer window after complaining of “discomfort” during a training session this week. Liverpool has heard from Klopp; “The boys that are here are in good physical shape. It’s not ideal that we have to observe Lucho Diaz. Apart from that, they all look really, really nice. He felt something, so we need to do more assessment there.”
Diaz had hoped to participate in forthcoming friendly matches for Liverpool against Lyon and AC Milan, but he is now returning to Merseyside for additional medical examinations and care. When Liverpool plays Manchester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on December 22, they will return to competitive play. Klopp, who has already had Diogo Jota ruled out of his attacking plans, will face another selection dilemma in what has become a season of frequent setbacks on that front.
