Liverpool moves to the top of the table with a 2-0 victory over Watford at Anfield after a first-half header from Jota.
Before Fabinho wrapped up the win from the penalty spot late on after a foul on Diego Jota.
The scoreline flatters Liverpool, who weren’t at their best today, and Watford played well but couldn’t take their chances.
With Hernandez and Juraj Kucka both going close, the Reds won’t care one bit as they’ve clinched all three points.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson;
Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Virgil Van Dijk, Andrew Robertson;

LIVERPOOL SUBS: Caoimhin Kelleher, Fabinho, Ibrahima Konate, James Milner,

LIVERPOOL TAKE THE LEAD! Watford has just had a chance at the other end, but they didn’t take it, and Liverpool has made them pay! Henderson switches the ball out to Gomez down the right-wing, who whips a superb cross into the box, and Jota gets ahead of his marker at the near post and beats Foster in goal. It’s 1-0.
LIVERPOOL DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! Fabinho climbs up to take the penalty and coolly converts, smashing the ball into the top left corner of the net, with Foster having no chance of stopping that one. It’s 2-0 with just a few minutes remaining.
So, what’s next?
They may only be top of the table for a few hours as Man City face Burnley shortly, and a win for them would send them back to the summit, but Liverpool faces City next weekend in a huge title clash.
Meanwhile, Watford remains 18th, three points from safety, and they’ll face Leeds next time out.
