Bayern Munich and Poland international forward Robert Lewandowski has won Golden Shoe Award for the 2020/21 season. The Pole outscored the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo with 41 goals in 29 Bundesliga football tournament appearances. On the other hand, the Argentine has scored 30 goals while the Portuguese has scored 29 goals.
The 33-year-old averaged one and a half goals per 90 minutes over the Bayern’s 9th-successive-title winning season only failing to score in 4 of his 29 games. Former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick who took charge of the club between 2019 and 2021, has congratulated Lewandowski on winning the award. Flick has now taken over Joachim Low’s role at the Germany national team. “I worked with you for two years and was able to experience your enthusiasm and determination to score goals.
