Argentina forward was back for a special training session at Camp Nou on Saturday, together with the rest of the first team from Barcelona.

In concrete 91 days, it was the first time the players have played in three months, on their home pitch. Ahead of the lockdown of coronavirus that’s how long it’s been since Real Sociedad beat 1-0.

It was a heartfelt return for Messi, who posted his joy in being able to return on the Camp Nou turf again with a message on social media.

“How I missed you,” he wrote, alongside a training photograph of him. “Waiting ahead to play again here.”

However, Messi continues his work on recovery from a muscular injury as he trained alone on Saturday. The issue won’t stop him from playing against Mallorca next Saturday.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
