In the 33rd round of the Premier League, Leicester City beat Crystal Palace 2:1. The hosts turned the match around after losing their opening goal. The highlight of the match between Leicester City and Crystal Palace was a beautiful strike by Kelechi Iheanacho. Leicester’s early rebound was impressive and was only prevented by a shocking foul. Christian Benteke robbed Yuri Tielemans with a powerful challenge in the middle of the line and Eberechi Eze stepped in before giving Zaha a pass.
The Ivory Coast striker escaped the trap of Leicester going out and guiding a stunning finish to the 10th goal of the season followed by Caspar Schmeichel. It was a familiar and challenging sight for Leicester, with Zaha celebrating the sixth goal against the Foxes in their last seven league appearances. But there was no end to Leicester’s regional dominance and Johnny Evans beheaded his fellow central defender Cagler Soyunescu, who shot out of good position.
Leicester equalized in the 50th minute when Iheanacho brilliantly controlled the Tielemans in the Palace area and slid the ball into Castane’s path. The Belgian defender never wasted time sending a curling shot from 10 meters to the roof of Vicenta Guita’s net.
The Tielemans bid to take the lead as a ball was coming on the right-hand side and Jamie Vardy was left completely alone with keeper Leicester, who produced a superb block. Evans’ long pass picked off Ihinacho’s run, and the Nigerian took two Palace defenders into custody inside the area before returning inside for a lightning strike passing over Guata.
With the win, Leicester strengthened in third place in the table. They are four points ahead of fourth-placed Chelsea. The Foxes have taken another step towards the Champions League. Watch match highlights here.
