Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, analysed Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph and assured fans that Kylian Mbappe is now forgotten.
Mbappe elected to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, despite suggesting he wanted to play for Los Blancos.
In Saturday’s Champions League final. Vinicius Jr scored the winning goal, showing hope for the future of Real Madrid’s squad already.
“I’m calm and happy. We’ve all worked hard all season to reach a situation like the one we’re in,” Perez told Movistar+.
“Real Madrid will always continue to work on having the best players, but today Mbappe is already forgotten.
“Nothing has happened. Real Madrid has had a perfect season.
“And that is a forgotten issue, and there is only a Real Madrid party.”
Deserving Champions League winner.
Nobody expected Real Madrid to reign supreme in the Champions League in 2021/22.
Florentino Perez made clear that the team deserved their success.
“We’ve had a good season this year,” Perez added.
“We’ve played all the best teams, and we’ve overcome them one after another.
“It’s a very well-deserved Champions League, and it results from the players, the coach and the fans. The fans have helped these players.”
Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world.
Thibaut Courtois was in sensational form on Saturday evening, making save after save to deny Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, and Perez was quick to praise the Belgian.
“Courtois’ saves: “All of his saves, the one he made with his foot against City. In addition to having a spectacular season, he’s also the best goalkeeper in the world,” Perez continued.
“That’s why we brought him in, and he’s very much a Madridista.
“Ancelotti is right when he says that the difference between Madrid and the others is that the Madrid players are Madridistas.
“I remember how the veterans in the game against City were already off the pitch and cheering on the youngsters.
“Madrid is a way of understanding life, its values, and its sometimes unpleasantness.
“But we are not a club where we share profits because there are none.
“We are a club of members, that communion is important.”
