Paris Saint-Germain hopes to kick-start its European campaign on Wednesday, but Kylian Mbappe seems comfortable.
Ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Istanbul Basaksehir, Kylian Mbappe believes Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League loss to Manchester United is meaningless, although he admits fans will demand more.
PSG is already playing catch-up as such, in Group H, and heading to the Turkish champions on Wednesday to kick off their campaign.
Mbappe doesn’t believe that the United loss raises the amount of pressure on the team and agrees that this time around, fans will want to see PSG succeed.
“Champions League matches, you always have to win,” he told the club’s website. “Even if we had beaten Man United, it would still have the same importance.”
“We must win. When you play here [at PSG], you always have to win. So, for sure, having lost, people will expect more from us, but the pressure will be the same.”
“There’s always pressure when you play and that won’t change against Istanbul.”
