On Thursday with a win against Rijeka, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is focused on bouncing back immediately and will not blame the tough fixture list.
Koulibaly was ‘sorry for the defeat’ in Serie A and Manuel Locatelli’s penalty and Maxime Lopez’ solo effort secured a 2-0 win for Sassuolo in Campania.
“Tonight, we wanted to win but we didn’t,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We’re sorry for the defeat. If we stop at this defeat, we won’t improve.”
“We can’t use last Thursday’s game as an alibi. We need to think about winning this Thursday’s game against Rijeka and on Sunday in the League against Bologna, let’s think big.”
“We created many opportunities to score, but we didn’t grab them.”
Napoli is fifth in Serie A with 11 points from six games and has started with one win and one defeat in the Europa League.
