Football supporters are requested by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, to not to gather at the stadium and to stay safe at home, as the leaders of the Premier League are preparing to resume their quest for a first top-flight title in 30 years.

After a three-month break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the league is set to come back later Wednesday.

To win the title Liverpool is just six points away from their remaining nine games, if they beat local rivals Everton and second-placed Manchester City lose to Arsenal later on Wednesday, they could even secure it on Sunday.

British sports minister Nigel Huddleston says the government could revisit plans to stage some matches in neutral venues if large crowds gather in front of venues, and matches will be played behind the closed doors.

“Soccer is back. It will obviously be completely different for some reasons but you can still make it really, really special, “said Klopp in a video on the website of Liverpool.

“Despite the empty stands, the players would still feel their support, and fuel their drive to the title,” he added.

“We’re going to use that but the final message is: stay safe, back us from home.”
