AS Roma’s newly-appointed coach Jose Mourinho never fails to make headlines in any way. Mourinho reached a new milestone as he marked 639th victory managing the 1000th match as a coach. During the football match of Roma vs Sassuolo on Sunday, Mourinho accelerated down the length of the field when Stefan El Shaarawy scored a late winner to win the match 2–1. It was Jose Mourinho’s 1000th game as in charge of the team and he was really happy after the success of his “special match”.
The victory confirmed Roma as the new leader of Serie A on a truly special evening for ‘The Special One’ – it was Jose Mourinho’s 1000th match as a professional manager and the 639th victory in his coaching career.
AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has shared his emotions following the 2-1 victory over Sassuolo. “During the week I lied to myself telling everyone this wasn’t a special game. I was trying to convince myself it wasn’t special. But it was. It was a match with a spectacular number for me which until last day of my life I will remember. I was terrified the eternal memory would be on defeat.”
“It was an incredible sensation. It could’ve been 6:6 or 7:7, Sassuolo coud’ve win 2:1 as well but Rui [Patricio] made a couple of incredible saves. It was an absolutely extraordinary match. Luckily we won and I was running like a child. I didn’t feel 58 years old tonight, I felt 14 – the age when you start to dream of a career in football”, – the Portuguese told the press, as per Football Italia.
Jose Mourinho is currently the manager of AS Roma and has won all three Serie A matches so far this season. Rome also leads the league ahead of Napoli. Surprisingly, after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, Juventus failed to win a game and are ranked 16th in the league. Juve lost to Napoli despite Morata’s goal in the 10th minute. In other matches, Milan beat Lazio with a goal by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
