Jermain Defoe, former Tottenham striker has talked about striker Harry Kane’s position at the London club.

“If you had asked me about his future a few years ago, I would have said I should stay at Tottenham. Given what he has achieved here, he is a legend,” Defoe said to TalkSport.

“But since I left and moved to Rangers, I’ve understood the mentality, played for another top club, and understood the importance of playing for him, winning every match, standards, and demands.”

“You have to win and win trophies, otherwise you’re not good enough. When you actually achieve that, the feelings you get from it are just wow. I wish I could relive them early in my career.”

“If Harry Kane wants it, wants to win trophies, I think he needs to go. I don’t think it will be easy for him to do that. Perhaps he looks at the situation differently and wants to end up being the top scorer in club history and see where that leads.”

“He can hope to win a few trophies, but if he is really hungry for titles then he really needs to go.”

Winning the Scottish Championship with Rangers was Defoe’s first trophy of the career.
