Liston Colaco and Roy Krishna were ATK Mohun Bagan’s champions in the Indian Super League (ISL) last night. Colaco and Krishna thus helped, among ISL football fixtures, ATK Mohun Bagan beat FC Goa 2-1 at Fatorda on Wednesday. Colaco opened the scoring for ATKMB and then Krishna (56th minute) made it 2-0 early on in the second half. Later on, Jorge Ortiz fortuitously pulled one back in the 81st minute but it was not enough in the end.

ISL Football Fixtures – ATK Mohun Bagan Beat FC Goa 2-1
Goa actually started as the more positive of the two sides. The impressive Devendra Murgaonkar warmed Amrinder Singh’s gloves with an early attempt.
We saw him nutmegging his marker and getting the better of him to shoot on goal. Amrinder saw the ball all the way, though, and had it covered.
Mohammed Nemil then spurned a good chance as he ran onto a clever Alberto Noguera freekick taken short. Unfortunately, Nemil smashed his attempt high and wide.
Soon, though, Colaco stepped up. He got on the ball on the left inside channel near the halfway mark. The 23-year-old stepped forward a bit to then unleash a rocket of a hit that swerved past the keeper. But he smashed the underside of the crossbar.
Despite this initial setback, Colaco managed to deliver the ball into the back of the net on the rebound. Unbelieving Ferrando held his head between his hands, his mouth wide open as Bagan took a lead they never relinquished.
At the half-hour mark, Jorge Ortiz forced Amrinder into a good save from a free-kick. But, overall, the half ended without much more incident.
Bagan doubled their advantage soon after the restart. Krishna fired home first time after a Hugo Boumous ball bounced all the way to the edge of the box. There, Krishna stood, patiently waiting, in acres of space.
On the other hand, though, FC Goa never really got a grip of the game. Still, despite their falling behind by two goals, a Amrinder gaffe helped them get back in the game. Ortiz’s weak left-footer was inexplicably spilled by Amrinder as the ball went into the net.
Goa then threw the kitchen sink at ATK Mohun Bagan, looking for an equaliser but Juan Ferrando’s men held on.
