The Indian Women football team spirit is high as they are ready to play against Belarus, in spite of their loss to Uzbekistan.

The women’s team has put out a powerful display opposing a side that is placed more than 10 points above on the FIFA Women’s Rankings.

India is set to lock horns with Belarus on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the AGMK Stadium in Tashkent. The match will kickstart at 4:30 p.m. IST and Uzbekistan FA’s YouTube Channel will telecast the match live.

“Belarus maybe a couple of spots below us on the FIFA Rankings, but they are used to playing against strong European sides, and their level of competition is high. But our girls are getting fully prepared for the game, and I’m sure they will go all out,” said India head coach Maymol Rocky ahead of the match.

“We are very excited about our game against Belarus. We’ve taken lots of positives in the game against Uzbekistan. We know the things that we are doing well. We just need to work on certain areas,” said Aditi. “We are very confident to be going and stepping up against Belarus, against a very strong side, and I’m sure that the entire squad is up for it,” said India’s custodian, Aditi Chauhan.

Maymol also commented on the team’s loss to Uzbekistan, “It was a heartbreak against Uzbekistan, but if I consider all the recent matches, I think this was one of the best performances that we put out. Uzbekistan was under pressure in the second half, and we went all out for this game”.

Since December 2020, the Indian Women’s Team has been training together in their long-term preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022. The team seems to be moving forward together with a number of players joining from the U-17 side as well.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
