The Indian national team is ranking at 106th in this October 2022 edition of the FIFA rankings that we saw released on Thursday. Ths Blue Tigers got qualified for the AFC Asia Cup of 2023 after a lot of struggle. They were seen last playing friendlies with two international teams this September on the given FIFA dates.

The Blue Tigers lost 3-0 against Vietnam when they were standing in the 97th rank however lost 1 point. The Indian player Sunil Chhetri said, “There were many things that we could have done in the game in a better way, losing many chances and without we trouble more we need to move on and wait for another day. It was the way we just played the game and cannot blame anyone. It was a beautiful day and the perfect ground, The weather was amazing, a little different than we usually see. It was only us who could have played differently. We have seen how Vietnam play against Singapore and trust me they are good, We need to be amazing when we will meet up face to face.”

However after comments, there was another match for Sunil Chhetri’s team with Singapore, and trying their best, they saw a draw of 1-1. This draw brought them another point lost putting them in 106th position in the FIFA rankings this Thursday. We are now witnessing Brazil which is charging up its battle in the list of the top ten. Italy gained one point and moved to 6th position while Spain lost a point ranking to 7th position, while Argentina is now ranking 3rd following up Belgium is 2nd.

After the All India Football Federation (AIFF) saw a ban lift, this is the first time they are playing against international teams. Since then, the coach for the Indian national team Igor Stimac was able to see the extension till the Asian Cup Finals of 2023.
