Guardiola angry at Ibrahimovic. Erling Haaland’s allegation that Pep Guardiola might prevent him from reaching his full potential has been ridiculed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. When asked if Guardiola might help him develop, Ibrahimovic showed his respect for the Manchester City striker but added another jab at the manager, adding, It depends on Guardiola’s ego, if he lets him become larger than him or not. However, Guardiola appeared unconcerned by the remarks and, when questioned about them at a press conference on Friday, mocked the Swedish striker.

He is entirely correct; he is correct. My ego in this club, in this team, is bigger than everyone else’s, remarked Guardiola. When Erling scores three goals and receives all the attention, it annoys me. I’m so envious! Really, I’m really envious! I pleaded with Erling not to set any additional targets so that the media wouldn’t focus solely on me. He is correct; Ibrahimovic is an expert on me. He might be able to write another book.

Ibrahimovic has frequently criticized Guardiola over the years, ever after the two parted ways amicably during their time together at Barcelona. The AC Milan player has repeatedly criticized the coach, alleging that the latter even referred to Guardiola as his “enemy” in the locker room. When Manchester City plays Fulham in the Premier League this weekend, the Norwegian striker might be back in action.
