Gonzalo Higuain, Juventus striker revealed his dream club saying that he wishes to end his career with River Plate by Marcelo Gallardo, who are ‘very exciting. They do have it all.’

The 32-year-old spent the first phase of the coronavirus pandemic in Argentina, even holding a web-seminar for River’s youth. Higuain is now back in Turin but has only a year left on his contract with Juve.

The Argentina international told TyC Sports, “River is a club that gave me everything, from letting me develop to buying me from Real Madrid, but I don’t know what’s going to happen right now. My head is here, [in Turin]”.

“The Gallardo team is very exciting, they have the quality, the strength, all …”

“The truth you are watching them and their No 9 is getting lots of chances. Clearly there is someone who played for River before watching that team, seeing themselves there and saying, ‘how nice.’”

“Gallardo caught the eyes of everyone and he earned it. I would have thought of going back to River to retire.”

In January 2007 pepita made his debut with the Buenos Aires club scoring 15 goals in 41 appearances, before joining Real Madrid.

For their part, River finished runners-up in last year’s Flamengo competition and won the 2018 Copa Libertadores.
