This summer there was “nothing concrete” in the reported interest of Barcelona in his services, confirmed Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum said at the press conference: “I don’t think [the Barcelona interest] was that serious, else you would have learned a little more, or more would have happened.”

“There was nothing special about it. I didn’t have to think about it. It seems like now I’m going to continue on [with Liverpool]. My deal is going to run for another 10 months. That might still change, you never know that in football, of course. But we’ll see.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
