Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who is the Rangers head coach now, has talked about how he was influenced by the team not winning the English Championship in 2014.

“The Reds finished second, two points behind Manchester City,” Gerrard told in the interview with Alan Shearer.

“Yes, it motivates me [for the title with Rangers]. The fact that it happened just before the end of my career at Liverpool was a real, brutal blow to me. It was a big disappointment for the team and the club because we were very close to the title.”

“The fact that Liverpool won the title and are the reigning champions is fantastic for me. Their win helped me get over it. But the big healing for me will be success as a coach.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
