Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso, advised Milan that they should keep Paolo Maldini as its owner. ‘He can do some good stuff for them still.’

When Rino was a coach and the ex-defender returned in an executive capacity, Gattuso and Maldini revived their partnership last season in San Siro. The duo won two Champions Leagues together as players for Milan.

With Ralf Rangnick set to come the 51-year-old is supposed to depart by the end of the season, but his former colleague thinks he might still do a job for the Rossoneri  (via Football Italia).

“The Maldini family wrote important pages in Milan’s history,” he said after yesterday’s 2-2 draw between his past and present clubs.

“There can be no debate about him as a man, but I think he can still do very good things for Milan as a director.”

The former midfielder of Italy now wants to make his impact at Napoli, contributing to last month’s performance in Coppa Italia.

“I hope to stay at Napoli for as long as possible and write important pages for this club and this beautiful city.”
