Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has announced that he would back Wales teammates if they ever decide to walk out due to racial abuse. Wales captain Bale stated that he would support any of his teammates leaving the field if they were subjected to racist abuse.

Recently, in the football match against Hungary for World Cup qualifiers, England players Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham were allegedly racially abused and FIFA has launched an investigation on the same. Gareth Southgate’s team took the knee prior to kick-off but sadly they were booed by some sections of the Puskas Arena crowd. Despite hatred from fans in the stand England team won 4-0 in Budapest not letting the opponents score a single goal.

Speaking ahead of Wales’ qualifier against Belarus on Sunday, Bale believes it is only a matter of time before teams walk off the field in response to such abuse – a move he believes is appropriate in the circumstances. Gareth Bale has stated that if his Wales teammates decide to walk off the field due to racist abuse during a game, he will back them up.

According to Sky Sports football news, the Real Madrid forward said, “If things don’t get sorted, that will happen. If we felt we weren’t getting protection and being treated the right way by the governing bodies and the only way to get the best response was to walk off, I’d be fully for it.”

“At the end of the day, it’s the right thing to do and it’s more important than football. We haven’t discussed it. But we’d have that discussion if it happened and we’d all agree on it as we’re a team that sticks together and if anyone is being targeted, we’ll do the right thing.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
