France Football publication has presented its all-time dream team with the Ballon d’Or that was not awarded for the year 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and has also announced the best referee of all time.

Pierluigi Collina has been called the best referee of all time by France Football: ‘He wrote the history of football.’

“When it comes to referees, the first name that comes to mind is his. From his debut in 1977 to his farewell in 2005, Collina wrote the history of football,” writes France Football.

Collina supervised 240 Serie A games and 109 international matches during his career, including the 2002 World Cup final between Germany and Brazil.

From 1998 until 2005, the IFFHS voted him the best referee in the world.

In 2011, he was inducted into Italian football’s Hall of Fame.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
