Xavi has confirmed that he is in contact with newly-elected Barcelona president Joan Laporta on a daily basis, in spite of speculation about a managerial role at Camp Nou.
If Ronald Koeman is fired at the end of the season, Xavi has been mentioned as a possible replacement for the Dutchman.
The 41-year-old has acquired the fifth trophy as manager last month with a 2-0 victory over Al-Duhail in the Qatari Cup final as being in charge of Al-Sadd for the past two years.
Xavi is pleased with the election results and assumes that good times will return to Barcelona after a tough era for the Catalan giants.
“Laporta is a good friend. I know him very well,” Xavi told beIN SPORTS. “He is the best president I have ever had.”
“Barca will return both in terms of sporting and economic results. There are problems to solve but you can do it all. I wish him well. I am in contact with him and I am very happy.”
