Burnley achieved their first victory of the season with Chris Wood’s early strike after a 1-0 loss to Wilfred Zaha-less Crystal Palace on Monday.
After just eight minutes to hand the hosts the lead, Wood eventually got Burnley off the mark with the Clarets’ first home goal of the season.
Palace appeared flat in response, with Michy Batshuayi losing their best hope for an equalizer, with Zaha absent after he tested positive for coronavirus before the match and is now self-isolating.
Though Palace stayed in 10th, Burnley withstood a late onslaught to see out a much-needed three points to move them out of the bottom three.
