In a duel between the two London teams, bringing the ‘hammers’ to fourth place in the standings the West Ham footballers beat Tottenham 2-1 (1-0) at the Olympic Stadium.
Already in the 3rd minute, Michail Antonio defeated Hugo Lloris. In the 47th minute, Jesse Lingard increased the home team’s lead to 2-0, which is his third goal for West Ham after arriving from Manchester United.
In the 64th minute, the visitors only managed to reduce the deficit, when Gareth Bale assisted Lucas Mouri.
Leading to the Champions League next season with a new, 13th win in the Premier League, West Ham has reached 45 points and fourth place in the standings. Tottenham suffered their eighth defeat, remaining at 36 points and ninth.
Leading Manchester City have 56 points, ten more than Manchester United and Leicester.
