Watford forward is sorry for violating lockdown policy

Andre Gray and his teammates Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina were excluded for the Premier League defeat against Southampton on Sunday after reports suggested that he was holding a birthday party in his home as he turned 29.

After an infringement of lockdown laws led him to be abandoned on the weekend, the forward Andre Gray from Watford apologized.

The forward wrote on his Instagram: “I wanted to wait to make [a] public apology as my first apology needed first to be to my teammates and staff for not being able to participate in yesterday’s game and the risk that I might have caused!”

“I just want to reiterate that it wasn’t a late-night party like what’s being portrayed and only a gathering of friends that turned my birthday into a kind of football tournament! I understand my responsibilities and I will do whatever it takes to get it right, excuse me again!
