Atletico Madrid reported having two positive coronavirus cases and both returned by the first-time team players Angel Correa and Sime Vrsaljko, the Spanish side confirmed.
Both the players have been ruled out from their quarter-final match against RB Leipzig in Lisbon.
On Sunday it was stated that two members of the club set to fly to the quarter-finals of the Champions League in Portugal had tested positive for the virus but then their identity was not revealed as to whether the victims were players or backroom staff.
Goal learned that the two members of Diego Simeone’s squad were responsible for the two positive tests, and the identity of those players was made clear on Monday. As such, they will not travel to Portugal or participate in the remainder of the competition.
