Vertonghen: Jose Mourinho is a fantastic coach

Former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has shared his experience of working with Spurs coach Jose Mourinho.

“I haven’t played much under him, but I felt he believed in me, he looked up to me. He is a fantastic coach. You go into the fire with a coach like that,” said the Belgian to Sporza.

“Mourinho, of course, is very direct, both in a positive and negative sense. If you win, you can ask him anything. He is very close to his players, they are his soldiers.”

“He can put pressure on you, make you feel very small, but if you fight, then he will be with you.”
