Dayot Upamecano, RB Leipzig defender agreed to a new three-year contract with the German club.
Several Premier League sides were eyeing on the player.
The 21-year-old French center-back had only one year left on his previous deal, which also included a release clause of €60 m ( £ 54.1 m), but he has now extended his stay in Leipzig until 2023.
With the international France U21, Arsenal was closely linked while both Manchester United and Manchester City were also interested in Upamecano.
Along with a number of Spanish sides, Bayern Munich monitored Dayot, Sky reported in Germany.
Upamecano told Leipzig’s website after agreeing to his new deal: “I feel right at home here in Leipzig-the package is perfect overall.”
“We had good conversations which showed me that the right decision to make was to extend my contract. Our young and hungry team is an ambitious club.”
“I want to take the next step with Leipzig and reach our goals because I’m convinced of how we’re playing our soccer. I’ve been in Leipzig for over three years and I’ve continued to improve alongside the development of the team.”
“I want to continue to develop personally and I think Julian Nagelsmann is a coach who can take me to the next level.”
Upamecano has made 111 appearances for Leipzig, since signing from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2017.
