Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly willing to secure the signatures of Carlos Vinicius from Benfica on a permanent basis, but they are unable to pay his £36 million release clause.
As compared to the prolific Harry Kane, the 25-year-old has missed to make an impact in the Premier League, but scoring six goals and assisting three times in eight games he has shone in the Europa League.
Spurs have the option to buy the Benfica loanee permanently this summer, however, his £36 million buyout clause is deemed to be too high for Jose Mourinho’s side to accept.
Tottenham has notified Benfica that a fee of £17 million is the most they can arrange this summer, as per the Daily Mail.
