As Tottenham defeated Sheffield United 3-1 at the bottom of the table, Harry Kane scored his season’s 19th goal and Tanguy Ndombele struck with a sublime finish on Sunday.
Tottenham extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches with a decisive win over beleaguered Sheffield United on Sunday.
With an early header, Serge Aurier opened the scoring and Kane added a second to bring Tottenham in command at half-time.
David McGoldrick halved the deficit, but to give breathing room to the London club, Ndombele scored one of the season’s goals as they stretched their unbeaten streak to seven games and left the beleaguered Blades with only five points.
Steven Bergwijn played a one-two with the French midfielder, picking him out with a smart chipped pass, and Ndombele found the far corner from inside the penalty area with a cheeky flicked lob running away from the goal.
At the end of a smooth Tottenham transfer in stoppage time, Kane blazed over the counter, but by then the win had long been wrapped up.
