Torres believes his boyhood side forced him out of Valencia

On Tuesday Ferran Torres completed his move from Valencia but leaving the club has never really been something he wanted to do and now he is a new Manchester City player.

As if his boyhood side were forcing him out of Mestalla, from problems with the club’s board to problems within the dressing room, the youngster believed.

These issues and the motivation to join City were discussed by Ferran in an interview with MARCA.

“My agent was with the team in Manchester and he contacted me to inform me they had a contract and I will be playing for City. This is a team that aims to achieve anything and I hope I’m going to make a lot of progress here.”

“I’m nervous and cheerful but depressed because I’m quitting my party at the same moment. Valencia was gambling me all over and teaching me when I was seven. That’s why I finished quilting, but I want to stress that I’m really thankful to Valencia and I’m still going to love them.”

“The issue is that there are people inside the club and a couple of journalists willing to destroy my image. I don’t want to leave terribly, because I’m a supporter of Valencia.”

While asked about rumors of having a bad relationship with Dani Parejo, Torres said:

“I feel more experienced and emotionally better after 3 years. Still, no, at 17. He’s a great player but I never had a connection with him. When I reached the first team at 17, there were a lot of weeks before he said to me a basic ‘good morning.’ He was not into me being a good captain. The worst of it came after Marcelino’s exit when [Lee] Kang-in and I were seen in the dressing room as guilty and for weeks they stopped talking with us.”
