Ahead of the new season, the Premier League suspected three positive tests in the first round of testing for coronavirus.
“Today, the Premier League can confirm that between Monday, 31 August and Sunday, 6 September, 1,605 players and club personnel were screened for COVID-19, of which there were three new positive tests,” read the Premier League statement on Monday.
“Players or club members who have tested positive will be self-isolated for a period of 10 days.”
