The official website of Chelsea reports that Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as new head coach.
The German specialist has signed a one and a half year contract with a possibility of extension.
It was reported that Tuchel, who left PSG at the end of December last year, had caught the interest of Blues owner Roman Abramovich, thus the London club had previously sent Frank Lampard out of the bench.
They are just one win away from home in their last five AFL games and they are ninth in the table with 29 points after 19 games.
Tuchel has been at PSG for two and a half years. Under his management, they have won the French league title twice, the domestic cup and the League Cup once.
Paris Saint-Germain reached the UEFA Champions League last season, falling to Bayern Munich 0-1.
