There is no place for racism in football stated coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Thomas Tuchel, but said he did not hear any comments directed at Neymar, who accused Marseille defender Alvaro of abusing him.
On his post-match news conference, Tuchel was questioned about the incident.
“What I said? He [Neymar] told me it was a racist insult, but I heard nothing on the pitch,” said Tuchel.
When he became aware of Neymar’s social media post, Tuchel replied: “I think everyone has the same opinion that racial prejudice can’t happen in all of society, in sports or in our lives. It’s clear, but I haven’t seen that today, nor [did] the referee so I can’t answer that question.”
