FIFA has just revealed the candidates shortlisted for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021. The finalists were chosen by expert committees, and fans may vote for their favourite player in each category on the FIFA website until December 10th. The results of the Best FIFA Football Awards winners will be announced on January 17, 2022, via an online event, according to football news.
The awards would be given in three categories, particularly – best player, best coach and the best goalkeeper in both men’s and women’s football. Below is a list of nominees from men’s football.
Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG), Edouard Mendy (Chelsea), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) and Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City) are among those nominated for the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the year.
Antonio Conte (Tottenham Hotspur), Hansi Flick (Germany NT), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Roberto Mancini (Italy NT), Lionel Scaloni (Argentina NT), Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid) and Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea) were shortlisted for the FIFA’s best coach of the 2021.
As for The Best FIFA’s Men’s Player, there are 11 men competing for the award.
The likes of Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Jorginho and N’Golo Kante (both from Chelsea), Lionel Messi and Neymar Junior (both from PSG) and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) made it to the list of candidates for the prize.
The 3 finalists in each category listed above will be announced in early January while the ceremony itself is due to take place on January 17, 2022.
