At the Liberty Stadium, Swansea defeated Brentford 1-0 (0-0) in the first semi-final of the play-offs for the English Premier League.
Swansea reached victory with a goal advantage in the 82nd minute when Ghanaian striker Andre Ayew hit the visitors’ net.
In the 64th minute, his shot was stopped by Brentford goalkeeper David Raya thus Ayew redeemed the unused penalty kick, and the visitors played with a smaller player from the 66th minute because Henry was sent off due to a dangerous start.
It was a duel between the third-placed and sixth-placed teams of the English Championship.
Cardiff and Fulham will play their first semifinal match on Monday, and on July 29th, Wednesday the return is scheduled in Brentford.
On August 4 in the final match for promotion to the Premier League, the better teams from the two semi-final matches will meet at Wembley.
