After being supported by Lionel Messi during his move from Barcelona to their La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid, Luis Suarez said he was proud.
The winner of 13 Barca awards said he was proud to have made such a good impact.
“Leo knows me well and is well aware of my level of conviction. Being able to leave a good legacy behind me is a source of pride,” he told reporters.
“Now I have moved on and it is a huge encouragement to enter this competitive side.”
Suarez scored 21 goals in 36 games last season, yet new Barca coach Ronald Koeman had no place for the Uruguayan while he rebuilds the Blaugrana.
