Suarez and Messi repeated Ronaldo’s record

In matches for national teams Atletico forward Luis Suarez and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi scored goals.

The Uruguayan played a game against Chile scoring from the penalty spot and the Argentinean faced Ecuador scoring a goal from 11 meters in the match.

Both games were held as part of the qualification of the 2022 World Cup.

Both Messi and Suarez scored 39 goals in official matches for their teams. 

The record of the former player of the Brazilian national team Ronaldo was repeated.

 Now all three share the first place in the list of top scorers in the history of South American teams.
