Harry Kane was missing from Tottenham Hotspur’s side for the football match against Manchester City. However, Tottenham did a “great job”, according to Son Heung-min, who scored the game’s only goal in the second half to secure a surprise victory. The win gave a perfect start to the new Spurs manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, while fans of the club rejoiced the victory, saying: “You see Harry Kane”.
Sunday’s result also showed why Man City want to sign England international Kane. “It was an incredible performance and everyone worked very hard to get those three points,” Son told Sky Sports. “Manchester City are currently the best team in the world, so we fought for three points and that means a lot to us at the start of the season,” the Korean footballer added.
Interviewed by Sky Sports after the match, the Spurs manager was asked about Kane’s condition, he replied: “Harry Kane is one of the best players in the world, honestly. We are very lucky to have him. He has to prepare and help the team.” The London team’s weight feature was defender Japhet Tanganga, aged 22, who was named man of the match after City striker Raheem Sterling’s way of canceling the threat.
