Son Heung-Min’s marvellous strike has been awarded for its brilliance as it was named by FIFA as the best goal of the past 12 months.
During a 5-0 win over Sean Dyche’s Clarets last December, the Tottenham winger picked up the ball inside his own half and beat several Burnley defenders in a mazy run before finishing cooly in the penalty area.
Son’s superb solo goal against Burnley has won the Puskas Award at Thursday night’s FIFA Football Awards.
This is the third time a Premier League goal has been awarded the Puskas Award. Olivier Giroud won the first back for his scorpion kick goal for Arsenal against Crystal Palace in 2017, while Mohamed Salah’s goal for Liverpool against Everton won the 2018 prize.
