Solskjaer: we’ve become noticeably better over the year

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer head coach of Manchester United has expressed his thoughts with BBC on the match against Aston Villa in round 17 (2-1).

“We are always happy for three points. It was a good performance; we created chances. At the very end we had a good save, Eric Bailly fantastically blocked the ball, probably that saved us two points.”

“The game was maybe a little bit too open, and we were wasting chances. We tried to pass like Hollywood instead of playing one-touch and taking advantage of the space.”

On Bruno Fernandes’ goal from the penalty spot

“He wants to take penalties and that’s very important. He’s not afraid to shoot. He is very reliable and confident when he comes to the point.”

On equal points with Liverpool

“Of course we are happy with what we are doing. We’ve shown that we’ve become noticeably better over the year. We lost to Arsenal a year ago and we’ve improved a lot since then. We are all getting in shape and getting stronger.”

“This group of lads are a good age. They are learning and they have the drive to do it, which is important. They start every day with a desire to be the best at the end of the game day. They are focused.”

On whether 2021 will be a positive one

“It can’t get any worse than 2020 for any of us, so fingers crossed for everyone.”
