Manchester United in charge Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has illustrated their 1-0 win over West Ham in the FA Cup 1/8 final.
“I thought we dominated. In the first half, we definitely had full control of the game,” said the coach to BBC.
“After the break it became more like a live game. Then, when it was 1-0 [in extra time] and we were wasting chances, we knew anything could happen. We knew because of Everton (3-3).”
“We just need to decide the outcome of the match earlier. But we got through, that’s what we wanted.”
“I think we hit 15-17 times in general, we should have been clearer. We should have made everything earlier, within 90 minutes, but sometimes we can’t.”
“Today we needed to get a good result and get positive emotions, because after the game with Everton the mood was not very good. It was not easy, but we were focused and did our job.”
“Of course, you want to win every game, challenge others, go to the finals. That’s what we’re all here at Man Utd for. Sometimes with the cup draw, we weren’t too lucky, but we got one step closer to the final.”
“The McTominay’s goal? Scott has played in attack before. He’s good in the closing stages. You see, he doesn’t mind being in those positions at all. Today he just hammered the ball into the net.”
