Ahead of Saturday’s game against Newcastle, Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told a press conference that Paul Pogba would extend his contract with the club for another 12 months.
In the summer of 2021, the French midfielder’s contract with Manchester United will expire, which means Pogba could conceal the pre-contract with the club in January.
If the Norwegian coach is to be believed, that will not be possible now.
It was Pogba’s dream to play for Real, he said recently, while Solskjer said for at least another two years the Frenchman would stay at Old Trafford.
“Paul’s our player, he’s going to be here for another two years,” Solskjaer told reporters. “I’m sure Paul is focused on doing his best for us and we want to see the best of Paul and I’m sure in the next couple of years we’ll get the best out of him.”
