After seeing their rivals storm to a record-breaking Premier League victory, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer vowed that Manchester United will ‘do everything’ to catch up, or even surpass, Liverpool.
The Reds secured their maiden Premier League crown after Manchester City failed to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, meanwhile United is sitting a full 37-point adrift in fifth.
By seeing their rivals clinch their first Premier League title by such a considerable margin everyone at United has been left ‘hurt’, Solskjaer insisted his side will do everything they can to be challenging back at the top of the table.
“Any team that wins the Premier League deserves it, they deserve credit. It is a hard league to win. Credit to Jurgen and his players. Every time you see anyone else lift a trophy, it hurts,” Solskjaer told the club’s official website.
“That’s the feeling everyone associated with Manchester United has – all our playing staff and supporters. Of course, we want to get back to winning ways and that is our challenge. We’re going to do everything we can to shorten the distance or even go past them, of course.”
